Pat,

I had my surgery to remove my bladder and build a neobladder on December 3, 2007 at the age of 50 at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston, TX by Dr. Seth Lerener of Baylor College of Medicine. This was horifing for me as I had never been sick or had surgery in my life and suddenly I was facing not only surgery but cancer. Please tell your husband that I came through the surgery fine, I was back at work 6 hours a day after four weeks and cancer clear in my prostrate and lymph nodes. While the recovery is tough and set backs happen their is a good life to be had after surgery.

He will be in my prayers!

Well, we are still in Ks! At our sons so we've traveled a little.

Deverne is still sleeping and I'm going to have to awake him soon so we can get on the road again.

I hope he's in a better mood today. Yesterday it was like I was driving him to his funeral. I prayed alot. :)

I will try and post when I can.

Pat,
My dad also had this surgery and was released after five days. Trust me, the waiting is worse than the actual surgery. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Pat,
Good luck to both of you. I actually have fond memories of my Journey. Recovery after suregery is just like driving in an ice storm. Go slow, take your time, realize there may be frustration, and know many have gone through the same and are living nearly back to normal lives.

You will be in my prayers.
