My husband had multiple T1, high grade tumors with no evidence of lymph node or prostate involvement in 2004. They removed the tumors and he kept his bladder. Then 3 years of BCG treatments. He had a metastatic reoccurance Sept 2008. The success rate is how you look at it, I guess. You could say that the BCG treatments were successful for 4 years or you could say they failed after 4 years. And now, bladder removal is not an option for curative treatment. Based on his experience, I would recommend the most agressive approach available for your Dad.
