I HAD MY TURBT YESTERDAY...SURGERY WENT WELL..FOLEY
OUT TODAY..SO FAR,I SEEM TO BE FUNCTIONING OK.
MORE BURNING THAN LAST TUR..USING "AZO" FOR THAT.
THESE ARE PILLS THAT CAN BE PURCHASED OTC.
APPT. TO SEE MY ERO ON 1-21-08..NO DOUBT I WILL GET
THE PATH RESULTS THEN...ANXIOUS ABOUT THAT.
I HAVE ENROLLED IN A MULTICENTER,RANDOMIZED,PLACEBO
CONTROLLED,DOUBLE-BLIND PHASE 3 TRIAL OF SINGLE-DOSE
ITRAVESICAL "EOUIN'AS A SURGICAL ADJUVANT INSTILLED
IN THE EARLY POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD IN PATIENTS
UNDERGOING TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION FOR NON-INVASIVE
BLADDER CANCER.GOT MY DOSE YESTERDAY..HOPE IT'S
THE "REAL MCCOY".(ALL BEING DONE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF MY DOCTOR)
PHASE 2 OF THIS CLINICAL TRIAL WAS COMPLETED IN EUROPE.
THE RESULTS OF THE TRIAL SHOWED THAT 'EQIN" WAS WELL-TOLERATED
AND PRODUCED A 67% COMPLETE RESPONSE IN PATIENTS,MANY OF WHOM
HAD BEEN TREATED MULTIPLE TIMES.THE DATA FROM THIS WERE PRESENTED
TO THE FDA IN EARLY 2006.
WE SHALL SEE WHAT WE SHALL SEE..IT SEEMS TO ME THAT WE HAVE TO HAVE
TRIALS TO COME UP WITH A EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR THIS DISEASE..

I totally identify with your frustration and anger -- back on 11/16, after having had two TURBT's I went in for what I expected to be a routine cystoscopy with no recurrence --- instead I wound up with new tumors ande had another TURBT on 11/30. The main thing we have to remember is that as long as the cancer is noninvasive we are winning the battle. Good luck and swift recovery to you.

Hi Max,

Don't worry, your wife will work her magic and help keep you calm. I know that nervousness and the emotional ups-and-downs you feel, after having had 3 TURBTs. This disease is relentless. But if the cancer removed is low grade, think how relieved you'll be. And although I had BC twice in two years, I then went seven years without it, until this year. That can happen to you, too.

Hi All,
Going for my TURBT(Recurence)tomorrow....Feeling nervous and..
Down..even angry(Thought I was over that)...I guess this is one
of my depression days..This damn disease is going to kill me
one of these days.
Sometimes it seems like all this is happening to someone else....
I had a resection of the colon,Seven years ago,to remove a cancerous
tumor.I can tell you it ain't a whole lot of fun...I would hate to
go through that again..Can't help thinking about all if this everyday.
Well...Just wanted to "Sound off" I guess...
