My husband had his PET scan on Friday and we went to the oncologist today, the official report was not ready but the dr. said he went up and looked at what had been done. Did not see new places, not much change in the old ones, the tumor in the bladder may have shrunk some. Hope to get a copy of the official report next week.
We will be seeing the radiologist on Monday, May 21. Dr. seemed to think that maybe some radiation could be given at this time to some of the places that are causing pain, such as the spine and ribs.
Also he might try chemo cisplatinum once a week for awhile since Bob had such a hard time with the last treatment of taxotere.
He had become dehydrated and received an IV today and we really talked about the importance of drinking lots of water.
Not as good a report as we wanted to hear but it could have been worse and we have not reached the ends of options.
