Hello, I am new here. My mother was just diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer. The tumor was 4 1/2 cm and had its own blood supply. It also had tentacles which had grown into the muscle. Other than that, we know nothing. The doctor she saw does not deal with the cancer itself. She is seeing a specialist on Wednesday. The report called it T2 and said it was suspicious of lymphovascular invasion. They did a scan of her chest and saw nothing. The first doctor said she will need a radical cystectomy. I guess my questions are these:
How serious is this?
When will they check her lymph nodes and other organs? Seems to me that you should have that checked before going through with such a major a surgery.
