Thanks to everyone who gave me support before my bladder cancer surgery. I am now 2 weeks post surgery and seem to be doing great. I have been able to eat just about anything I was before only in smaller quantities. I am walking about a half block twice daily. The catheter is still in, but is scheduled to come out later this week. The mucus is definitely increasing now and we are having to flush 2-3 times a day. Are there certain foods that might be contributing to the increase in mucus? I was only flushing once a day for the first 10 days, but now I notice the cath gets blocked up if I don't flush more often.
My other question is about the flushing after the cath comes out. I know I will be learning the technique when it does come out, but it is curious how so much "egg drop soup" will be able to make it through a smaller opening!
