Cynthia,
So sorry to hear you are going thru so much...I can't imagin having to go thorough all this and with only one kidney...I don't know how we survive but we do... my mother-in-law who was first dx'd with bladder cancer in her early 50's, at 80 had an RC, lost use of one kidney and the remaining one operates at maybe 30% but she is still going at age 90. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs,

Cynthia,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I, too, have a obstruction in my ureter, first neph tube was placed 1-28 at Cleveland Clinic, they were unable to get through the obstruction or get a brush biopsy. Tried again 2-4 with success. It was capped off the next day and seems to be draining well into my Indiana pouch.

The plan now is for a scope/biopsy then another surgery for either removal of kidney/ureter if CIS is present or try to repair scar tissue if less than 1 cm if not another tube that may last a year.

Like you I usually can handle things pretty well but this was a big set back emotionally.

So glad to hear your original surgeon will do your surgery. Being in familiar (even though cold and snowy) territory has to lesson some of the anxiety.

Hugs,
Tamlin
