During his most recent stay in the hospital, it was determined that one of my Dad's carotid arteries is blocked by 66-79%. I only discovered this when reading the copies of his records that we obtained from the hospital. Not one doctor mentioned this while Dad was in the hospital. He is having no symptoms that would indicate this blockage. However, his blood pressure has been very high lately, even with the 12 BP drugs they have him on now.
Should he have this blockage looked into, and if so, what kind of doctor handles this type of problem?
I know this is not a vascular forum, but I'm pretty sure that someone here has come up against this problem in the past.
