One year as a non-smoker

Hang in there Mark!

Sounds simple but a guy told me the secret. Not even one drag. Not even once. Sounds simple but the little guy on your shoulder can try to convince you it won't hurt. It will.

I cannot swear by hypnosis but I do think it helped. You might consider it as a booster kind of thing. The idea is to plant the suggestion in your head that you ARE a non-smoker and that you will be a non-smoker for the rest of your life.

And on that note a guy said to me "When we hit 80 we can have a smoke together". My answer was, "No way! Even if I had a terminal illness and knew I was going to die anyway, I am never going to have another cigarette".

I'm not one of those former smoker militants (we all know at least one of those). Other people can do what other people want to do. As for me, non-smoker, thank you very much.

We can do it when we're ready. The trick is knowing when that is!

Again, BEST of luck to you in YOUR continued life as a non-smoker.

It has already been a year since I became a non-smoker. I never thought it could happen quite frankly but I can tell you there is a HUGE difference between being a non-smoker and being a smoker trying not to smoke.

Did the patches, the cold turkey, the chantix, the gum, the hypnosis, etc. Finally, one day just made the decision and never looked back.

Not sure, but I think the hypnosis MAY (maybe not) have helped but it was a two year delay before my brain finally decided I was a non-smoker.

Good luck to anyone who makes the change....
