Hello, and welcome to the Forum!!
I assume by fulguration, you mean that he uses an electrical current to burn off the tumors. I have never had this done, so do not know what the discomfort level might be. I am puzzled as to how the urologist will know what the pathology of the tumors is if there is no tissue to send to the pathologist? Low grade can progress into worse without notice and this cannot be determined just by "looking" even by an experienced uroogist.
Also do not understand why you would need surgery every three months? The usual protocol for follow-up is a cystoscopy every three months (in the office with a small camera where the urologist examines inside the bladder....no surgery, no anesthesia). Only if a problem is found is a TURB (biopsy) scheduled and the tumor removed and sent to a pathologist for analysis.
Guess I would want any tumor to be carefully examined by a pathologist so that I would know exactly what I was facing.
