A7wood,
It's certainly normal to have some anxiety, but losing 20 pounds is a sign of worrying a bit too much. Not sure how to help you not be so worried but it is better to keep an eye on your eating and sleeping and try to maintain normal routines so you stay healthy. Stress can really mess you up.
If caught early, bladder cancer is VERY treatable. It all depends on the stage and grade of the tumor. Different treatment approaches for each.
Be sure to tell your doctor that you want to get a copy of your pathology report. You will have to sign a release to get a copy but it is yours and you should have it. Your urologist can help you understand what it says (and doesn't say). We can also help you with that. It is not always easy to interpret and there are lots of folks here with enough experience to help you understand what it says, and what it may imply in terms of treatment.
Good luck on the 1st! Let us know how it goes. You may or may not have a catheter in when you wake up from the surgery. All depends on how much cutting they do. The surgeon should make a cut all the way to the muscle layer to be able to determine how deep the tumor does or doesn't go. Some times, there is no catheter but most of the time, you go home the same day.
Let us know if you have any other questions about the procedure but don't get too far ahead of yourself. First, you will need to know what you're dealing with. It's one step at a time.
All the best!
