Photos of Nature

This is a common bird of the estuaries of North Carolina. This photo was taken last Saturday as I was on the ferry crossing from Bear Island to Swansboro, NC.

I feel so lucky to live in a place where outer nature resonates and responds so perfectly with my inner nature. Bayard Wooten, an accomplished NC photographer of the last century, tried to cultivate a photgraphy business in New York City, but came to realize the barreness of such an effort for her. It made her remember the "acres of diamonds that lay at my door". (North Carolina).

I appreciate these pearls strewn in my path so much more since BC diagnosis and love to take these photographs and share them..

These seabirds seem to be accustomed to not having to hunt and dive for their dinner. Their menu today (on my dime) was leftover hushpuppies, clam strips and french fries. I even threw in the shrimp cocktail, which for some reason was not to my liking today, ....

Thanks so much for sharing these photos. I can tell you, that if I owned a retreat such as yours, the issue of unfairness of life would never pop into my mind .... The only thing that I would hope for in this scenario would be a hammock somewhere in that grove of trees.

I've just returned and have been busy reading recent posts to get myself up to date. I'm sorry if I caused you any undue concern re: place. It sounds like you have more than enough on your "plate" without worry about abstract things like place. Not to worry, I'll share my place with you.
