If you are in a community of maybe 50,000+ there are often support groups that can help. Also, the hospital should have someone or group they can refer you to as well as your doctor.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

we will be discharged from hospital on tuesday. The urostomy nurse here said they do not see patients on outpatient basis. How do you find urostomy nurse when you are discharged home?

This is a question for your urostomy nurse . Everyone’s body is different and it takes quite a while to find the right combination of pouch and adhesive that will work for a particular patient . Many companies that provide urostomy supplies will provide free samples which would allow your father to try them as he seeks to find the one that will fit his needs and be right for him.

My Dad just had bladder removed. We are new to urostomy care. currently uses one piece pouch and has adapter ring and paste. We have had a lot of leak. I noticed today that urine drains along lower border of stoma which is where it leaks. Any tips on how to secure the appliance to avoid this?
