Had a biopsy, all is good. What it is, is acute prostatitis caused by the catheter that I had in during surgery. I'm taking antibiotics for it and utraxal to alleviate the symptoms, but it is very slow going. Specifiacally what troubles me is that without the utraxal I have to pee every 15 min. at night and I feel that i have a golf ball up my butt that I just cannot get rid of. That being said everyday they seem to get better but it is still not 100% after 2 weeks of meds.

My question is if anyone else experienced this??

What is prostatitis? BPH is benign swelling which causes problems of urination. One treatment is hormone therapy and severe cases are treated surgically. If your uro has detected an induration (hardness) in the gland itself, you will need a biopsy to rule out cancer of the prostate. In addition to the DRExam , a PSA test will help diagnose the problem.

Hi All,
So as I told you I went to my Uro last Wed. and he determined that with my symptoms and a digital exam that I have prostatitis
as a result of the surgery this really sucks as I have frequent urination at night, painful crampy feeling all the time, and I can't sleep.

Has this happened to anyone else ? My uro tells me it is common, but I don't see any postings here, anyone, anyone
