I want to thank everyone for their posts. It has helped me a lot to adjust to life without BCG.

I just passed my comprehensive finals for my Masters Degree. So, I have been a way for a while studying. It helped to get back to normalcy.

Just in case you are still watching your original post - I always think of the time in between cystos as my time without cancer - so I don't give it much thought. I also bike a lot.

HEY GMAN,
I THINK WE ALL REACT DIFFERENTLY TO THIS DISEASE.
MY FIRST FEELING WAS ANGER...THEN I FELT SORRY FOR MYSELF.(STRAIGHT TRUTH)
FINALLY,I BECAME RESIGNED TO THE FACT THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL
WITH THIS THING.(THIS WEB SITE HELPED ME A LOT...PEOPLE HERE REALLY CARE)
I GOT MYSELF THINKING POSITIVE....DID A LOT OF RESEARCH..THAT HELPED.
KNOWING MORE ABOUT THE DISEASE HELPED ME UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS DEALING WITH.
ALL WAS NOT AS GRIM AS I THOUGHT....I FOUND OUT THIS IS A TREATABLE DISEASE.(DX TA GII)
IN MY CASE, I HAD 6 BCG TREATMENTS...RETURNED FOR A FOLLOW UP CYSTO SOMETIME LATER
AND THE RESULTS FLOORED ME...I HAD NO TUMOURS!....BIOPSY FOLLOWED LATER..
NO CANCER ANYWHERE.
I RETURN FOR A FOLLOW UP CYSTO ON 12-19-97.
SO,MY ADVICE IS TO STAY POSITIVE..IT HELPS.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FOLLOW UP CYSTO.
MAX

I think it's partly about control. the BC diagnosis makes you feel you are out of control so you have to look for ways of taking it back. for me, adopting a healthy diet and making myself feel really good worked. also taking more walks. and treating yourself and staying connected with the world. you are much more than a cancer diagnosis.
