BCG Pains

when I had my bladder removed they said it had become enlarged and was quite hard to remove - probably due to the BCG Id had in the previous 18 months or so. Looking back now I had all kinds of dull pain in that region including a backpain which has, since my cystectomy, completely gone. It really stopped me from walking very far.

Rosemary,
I got the on-call doctor on the phone and he put me on cipro. I've since googled the subject and all those results were scary. Now I'm just dreading the call in tomorrow morning because I know the next steps are not going to be fun. My lymph modes are huge at this point. I just wish i could be cut a break here. Thanks for the help.

Dear Vin,

Actually, I am a little concerned about your groin area. Try to get a call in and talk to someone about this. You might do a little googling on your own as many doctors do not recognize some of the strange responses to BCG's. At least my doctor didn't.

About the clavicle, my right shoulder became LOCKED as a result of a BCG triggered arthritis. Actually, come to think of it, my arthritis did not show up until 2 weeks after the 9th treatment.

I'm not saying that you have arthritis, but, my Doc, when he finally surrendered to the fact that my arthritis was BCG related, told me that BCG's were like aspirin, there is a range of about 5,000 different responses to the treatment.

Report EVERYTHING to your doctor and have it documented.

If you can't get the Doctor this weekend, then call on Monday and ask about the groin area, as that one is a new one on me.

Take care,
Rosemary

Anyone experience swollen lymph nodes in the groin during BCG treatments? I'm on #9 and my nodes are going a bit haywire. I also have this strange pain in my clavicle. Doc says many different symptoms are normal but didn't mention these particular areas. Figures these things concern me on weekends when I can't get anyone decent on the phone.
