Cytology is notorious for false positives however, your URO should be in possession of that test and if it warrants they should be following up if more tests are needed.

The fatigue for me took about 2 months after my last induction to leave. While I was beating this 6 months later I had friends and accounts told me they were concerned I was dying....just the side effects were the "look" of fatigue. I am still here 11 years later. I was on a once a week for 6 weeks, then 6 off then repeated. This is one of the minority viewpoints on protocols. Everyone is in a different situation. My URO opined I was caught early even with high grade and every invasive procedure carries some kind of risk so that was it for me, 6+6.

Hi,how long will the tiredness and shyness last from BCG? Also my last Turbt showed no tumors ,but I have malignant cancer cells in my urine, does this mean the bladder lining is shedding the cells?

Pretty normal reactions so do not despair! They are cumulative. The good news is for most after a few days they subside on the weekly basis. The very minor issues such as capacity left after a month or two going from 2 hours to void to 4 as an average. AS you said, this is better than most other alternative treatments especially systemic chemo!

Hi jls 1

I'm in a similar situation to you; I completed my initial 6 BCG treatments on 30 Oct 2018. In the early stages I had very little in the way of immediate reactions apart the normal pain during urination for a couple of days. After BCG 5 and 6 I found I was mildly tied for a day after. The 6 treatments were very effective with no cancer cells found in Dec after completion of the treatment. Now I have just completed 2 maintenance BCGs with the third tomorrow and I definitely feel tired and 'feek and weeble' for a couple of days afterwards with the effects seeming to be cumulative. I take some encouragement from as I take it to mean that the BCG is disturbing my bladder to such an extent that my body marshals all effort available to fight the infection and any residual cancer.

Keep going, it's better than any alternative.

CIS diagnosed May 18
2 TURBS
6 BCGs 2018
3 Maintenance BCGs 2019
Return of CIS Sept 2019
