It could be worse!!! This is a carbon-copy of my initial diagnosis and, as you know, I am 11 years out and counting!!!

Thanks FinalMan - and looking forward to hearing of your BCG experience. I will probably be starting my BCG in ~5 weeks, so I have a little bit of a wait.

Hi Regor,

Unfortunately I can't say much surrounding CIS but I have just started my journey on the NMIBC with a TaG2.

The good news is that it was caught early enough to be Ta!

There's a good number of people living with a CIS diagnosis and have done very well, wishing you all the best with the future treatment!

Embarking on my BCG journey tomorrow morning, time to get this done!

28/10/18 - Blood???
24/12/18 - Dx TaG2
15/01/19 - Start BCG
06/04/19 - Cysto + Biopsies - CANCER CLEAR

Hi all,

I had my ongoing intro thread and initial steps described in "Newly Diagnosed, New to the forum" ("GREG, NEWLY DIAGNOSED KIDNEY STONE AND PAPILLARY TISSUE").

Today I got the call from my Doctor in regards to the post-TURBT Pathology report.
Summary:
Non-Invasive - YAAAA!!
Carcinoma in situ - Ohhh...

Truth be told, I was going to be happy with a diagnosis of Ta Low Grade, with tumor removed and minimal maintenance Cystography.

Sorta caught me off-guard of the seriousness of CIS diagnosis.
Initial email from Doctor (since I missed phone call and voicemail) -
"No further surgery is recommended at the moment, however the standard treatment is up to 3 year course of BCG (starting with 6-week induction course) to try to prevent recurrence and progression."

I've seen other posts in regards to BCG and CIS, and especially with the success of sara.anne and others. Looks like this forum will be stuck with me for a while, but I plan to be a fighter and looking for the positives of an early catch and long-term projections.

Thanks everyone!!
Greg
