Your pattern sounds normal, just some of that crap to endure. The side effects are cumulative, if you didn't know. Good luck on #3. Are you going for the full 6, after the holiday? Fa La La to you too.

Well, finally had my second treatment and its been ok for 2 days now. No bleeding, just a bad day after having the stuff. Felt really tired, weak and achy. Next morning I felt fine, so maybe that is the pattern for me. Next Wednesday for treatment number 3 then I am off for the holiday.

If I dont get a chance, let me wish everyone a happy holiday, merry Christmas, and happy new year. I hope 2015 will be a year of health and wellness for all.

I've missed two weeks, and would not be concerned about three. Once, for other issues, I missed 5 weeks. Once resolved, Doc recommended we start all over again. No problem with me. 2nd opinions can be had from major cancer centers rather quickly, to compare results and peace of mind (no visit necessary). Changing uros may be a different story. I did, and travel 30 miles for better results.

I can relate to being scared, and to me it seems absurd that your doctor cannot answer your questions. I myself am concerned about missing ONE treatment, so I am with you.....but try to find another doctor for another opinion, even a phone call or something.

Wishing you well!

Sara Anne, I didn't mean to be rude or imply lack of response but I am concerned as to how long one can go without treatment, while BCG is on backorder. I have had the first 4 treatments after removal of a 5cm ,high grade tumor and been on backorder now for 4 weeks.
I'm just plain scared.
Thanks again for all responses.

Tique, I hope you don't think that WE are ignoring your questions? Think the situation with BCG, as unsatisfactory as it is, has been explained as best as we know it.

Very often BCG treatments must be delayed because the patient develops side effects (usually a really unhappy bladder!) or comes down with a bladder infection. This does not reduce the effectiveness of the treatment and it is resumed when the patient recovers. That being said, of course the sooner it can be resumed the better.

I must say that your doctor's response to your concerns does not show much sensitivity! Of course removal of the bladder is not something anyone would look forward to if there were options.

Think your obtaining a second opinion is a really good idea. Yes, 50 miles is NOT an easy hike, but it will be worth it to see what this urologist might have to offer.

Please let us know what he says.
