Hi Guys! Gary, Mark, and George... Wow, we seem to all have been rowing in a similar boat these past few months. The Evil 3 (Stress/Anxiety/Depression, or SAD for short) can really grab hold of a person and take over their life. I think we have all had remarkable breakthroughs by finding the help we need, even if just to step back and cut ourselves some slack.

Gary... So proud of you for all you do for others and it is time to give equal consideration to YOU! Good for you!

Mark... It is so good to hear from you and I am very happy you are doing better. Meds used in the right way can be just the bridge to get across a tough time in life.

George... "Chill" is just the right mantra for 2014 and I hope you heed your own words. I had shingles 30 years ago right where you have them and I have never had such pain. I was on vacation in Spain of all places. Many blisters, eye swollen shut, puffy red all over... not a pretty sight! Still have scars on my forehead as a reminder since that was before there were meds to take for it. I also had a small outbreak on my abdomen last summer and I knew immediately what it was. There is no other sensation like it and a quick trip to the weekend ER and acyclovir took care of it much quicker. So take care!

So good to hear from all of you... reading this just made this chilly day (18 degrees) feel a lot warmer!

Best wishes... Catherine

Mark, glad to hear from you my friend. I remember some time back, I talked you into getting on here and talking about your self. Now you have become quite an advocate for bladder cancer. And yes stress gets to even the strong. It does not discriminate! All of my life I have devoted my life to helping others. Even a doctor That I saved the live of after he was in a head on car wreck. When I went to him for a problem and I had no insurance, he charged me over $200.00, even when I told him who I was and what I did. I get stressed and depressed because that's the way you get treated around here!!
GKLINE. I have finally figured out how to Step back and ajust!!!

And to every one here at ABLCS I thank you all for your support and putting up with me. And Catherine, three snaps back to you. I just Think you are the best!!!!

I applaud anyone who can realize when the stress load gets too great and is able to "Step Back" and decompress. I wish more people would quietly take a break instead of letting it come to a boil and falling apart.

Two months ago I had a constant headache and suddenly a painful rash broke out on my head. I thought I had maybe spilled something on my scalp and caused this to happen. But after about a week of the pain, I went to the Dr. and he looked and said... "Shingles!" probably brought on by stress.

So this year............... Chill!

"Oh yeah! Like that is going to happen!.........

Light a man a fire and he is warm for an evening.

Good to hear Doc.

I too have been seeing the doctor for mental health reasons. The new medications seem to help.....Never thought I would need them, but even "The Original Tough Guy" needs help now and then.

Catherine. Thank you so much, that means so much to me! I'm sorry for your stress and fatigue I know how you feel, it has taken me a year or more to overcome my stress and depression. And I'm still recovering and going to therapy! I got almost suicidal.
