Best of luck Joe. The Interferon along with BCG is a good thing. Just be sure your doc knows that you prioritize length of life over length of keeping your bladder. Nothing wrong with trying another round. Keep VERY close watch though. One more time and get that rascal out of there. VERY close eye.

Thank you Mike and George. It really hit me when I read your points of view.

I called my doctor, who is no slouch. He's Chief Oncologist Genitourinary Disease at Mass General here in Boston. We have a consult next week as a result. He still wants to have me run my BCG course but one piece of info I missed was that I will have Interferon as well. Bladder removal is on the table and we'll be discussing this next week as well.

So I'll keep you posted and wish we luck.

Joe, sorry you have had a recurrence but like Mike and George say...get it out, get it all out. I would definitely get a second opinion on where to go from here. It just the best thing to do...get that second opinion.

I am sorry to be so late with this post. I was out of town and then I was thunderstruck by Mike's diagnosis.
But I see that Mike has posted to your thread even as he battles his own enemy.

As usual, I agree with Mike. Get that nasty, god forsaken, good for nuthin' bladder out of there. If it requires annual angst just to ruin a perfectly good life.......
Get It OUT!!!

If the Dr. thinks BCG is a reacurring thing. Get a second opinion and be rid of it. You have better things to do than worry about going through this every year.

Best of luck. I'll be sending up a prayer for you.

Joe,

I will keep you in my prayers. I know its hard to keep the faith after a blow like that, but you are strong and will fight this. Remember to keep hope and faith close to you always.
