Hello, Ray - welcome to our great forum. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I have a complete narrative on my 6-treatment BCG experience on this same forum topic, titled "Newbie - I'm checkin' In". I describe each treatment and my reaction. It seems that we all respond somewhat differently, but I thought I would post my experience for comparative purposes and so readers would know how someone else reacted to all 6 initial treatments. The BCG (along with TURBT) worked for me, as the main part of my bladder is now clear - but I still have a small tumor in a diverticulum I have, which is being surgically removed next Monday. The best to you - hang in there with the treatments. Determination to finish the entire course helped me when the reactions got a little rough over the last few treatments.

Cheers - Maryland Mike :)

Hello Ray... I'm happy that your treatments have gone well so far. You are such a wonderful and positive addition to the forum.

You are right about being aggressive with cancer because hesitation can give it the upper hand. And we definitely don't want that!

Best wishes... Catherine

Hi All,

Had my third BCG treatment on Friday and so far do good. Frequent urination for first part of Friday and Saturday nights but other than that feeling pretty good to be at the half way point at the start of my journey. Again can't thank this site enough for the knowledge and support I have gained.

Hi Anita,

No fever just debris. Actually not feeling too bad. Thanks for the information about fever. When I started this thing I had to look for the family thermometer to have at hand just in case.

Regards,

Ray

Ray, Welcome to the medical world! Oh the stories I could tell. After my first scope I came home and wrote a two page comedy about it. Been doing this cancer thing for twenty years and they still find ways to surprise and embarrass me. As for feeling guilty, forget it. If there is one thing to learn early, it's to be in charge of driving your own boat. It's your life they are dealing with! Hope you are feeling better by now.

Ray,

Just rest today and hopefully, you will feel better tomorrow. Are you running a fever? If so, make note of it. Best wishes.
