Congratulations, Anne! You guide the way for me as I approach the end of my first BCG series (treatment #5 next Monday)- and your history gives me great hope for my condition. I'll add a glass to my daily evening red wine session tonight - two glasses instead of one for a change! Thanks for posting.

Ann,

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

What a milestone! I am certainly glad you plan to continue here on the boards. You are so helpful to so many folks!

I also hope that you and your husband add the date to your celebration calendar. Why not share a bottle of wine and couple of nice steaks every year at this time in celebration of not having to have another BCG treatment? Seems like a worthy thing to celebrate. :)

YAYYYYYYY!!!!!

Yesterday was my very last BCG treatment, number 27! I've had no recurrences since being on it, and have not had too much in the way of bad reactions. Part-way through the protocol they dropped me down to 1/3rd dose because I was starting to have more pain and ran a fever for more than a day. After going to the 1/3rd dose, my only symptoms were some frequency and a little mild bladder pain for about a day after.

I brought in cupcakes for the office staff to celebrate, and last night my husband and I polished off a bottle of wine between the two of us plus a couple of small steaks. The nurse who does my BCG instillations gave me several big hugs. She said she was of course very happy for me, but also said how much she'd miss me; we've really gotten to be good friends over the last 2 1/2 years.

Thanks, also, to all here who've been so helpful to me. (I'm not going away from the board, however.)
