I watched the cancer special on CNN and was once again dissapointed to learn it was geared to people without cancer rather than those who have experienced cancer. The CNN talked mostly about diagnositic tests, catching cancer early through medical tests and how cancer adversly affects the outcome for the poor. All good subjects for some but not for those of us with ongoing cancer recurrences as to what are the newest treament options and trials. Or what has proven effective in treatment for certain cancers. Unfortunatly, when I went to the AUA meeting in Baltimore earlier this year the subjects were very similiar. How to detect cancer and how to treat it. How about programs geared to those of us who had had cancer and recurrent cancer to learn what is new and most effective or what is in the pipeline. What good does it do to have all these screening tests and discoveries of early stage cancer if there is not a treatment that effectively stops the cancer?
