Talked to them yesterday and they will not do a cysto since it is a self pay. Makes me wonder what will be covered in the visit.
I faxed a request for an overnight of my slides and hope they get here in time.
I'm calling the insurance today to see if there is any university that is covered by my plan. Thinking I may need to do some major traveling.
I thought I was pretty organized because I do have a book with my discs of CT scans and the pathology report. I just had no idea about the slides and am learning more I probably need to make sure I get into my book.
I also have a data table where I have written all the dates with each doctor what was done and results for a quick look.
This is just another reason that I am thankful for everyone here and what I am learning to make me a more aware patient.
Hi Viv When I went to john hopkins for a second op. I hand carried all my records , slides and ct scans. I have been to apps where it was all sent but got misplaced, and then there is not much they can do untill they find the stuff. I just find I have less stress when I can hand it to them.
Also I have my own copy of everthing, bloodwork ,cts, lab results you name it and I put it all in a notebook that goes with me to everyone of my husbands dr apps for his cancer that he had. It keeps my thoughts clear on what happened, when ,and there have been times the drs. did not have copies and I was able to give them mine to make copies for themselves. In fact I had a copy of my husbands ctscan before the drs and knew he had a tumor before they did.
Hope it all goes well for you. Rocky
Vi..are there slides? Call pathology and ask for them to be packed up and ready for you to take with you. The pathology report is only as good as the pathologist and she will want to see those slides.
