Just wanted to let you folks know that I got my 4th ALL CLEAR today....so I am now 16 months cancer free!. Such an unbelievable relief!!!
I asked the doc about BCG followup as I have had only only the initial 6 BCG - which concerned me considering Dr. Lamm's protocol. But doc said that since I have been doing so well that the BCG would probably do more harm than good in my case. He was referring not only to side effects but also the fact that BCG can cause the bladder to shrink over time. He decided that observation was best in my particular case.
So, I am on another 4 month vacation!!! He said that after 2 more all clear that I could go on a 6 month check. Can't wait for that day! Then will only have to deal with the stomach knotting anxiety twice a year!! Something to look forward to!
So, even though I have a lifetime of this ahead of me, I am proof that if this is caught in time, and certain lifestyle changes are made, that it can be manageable.
I am very grateful today not only for my all clear but also for all the support I have received and the care and concern of so many wonderful people.
