Sarah,

Every time I come back to our forum site, I learn something new and feel like I am not alone. It seems you are going through a similar situation and treatment as me. I had a TURB in Aug. Nov and then again in March. The first two found TaG3 tumors (but relatively small) and the March TURB was negative and the abnormal area was found to be cystitis. I had six weeks each of BCG after the first two. Last week I started my three weeks maintenance doses of BCG. He is trying me at 50% and last week went well. I just had the normal body aches and fatigue for about 24-36 hours. So hang in there, it appears you have company that is going through the same thing at the same time (if you find that supportive). :P I’ll take Mike at his word about the six treatments and the six packs. However it does sound far fetched.

Yes, Mike et al....the possibility of even lower doses does exist. Your discussion of the rationale behind the BCG treatments bears remembering. Dr. Janoff says that there is not even rationale for the three year thing. In his experience, people who "fail" earlier do just as well. That being said, however, I really get the impression that "while it is up to me" as to whether I continue, he would LIKE to see me do it. So I will, with all you encouraging me!!

Sara Anne--

That's great news! And now we will be back to almost being in sync with each other in terms of schedule, as I start my 1/3rd dose BCG in two weeks and you in three weeks. We'll need to keep each other posted!

I am never surprised by what I learn on this site! I wondered why the first dose was 6 - now I know- It comes in a six pack.
So does beer, but you don't have to drink all six
I thought the BCG had a very low shelf date - like a few days?
I know my Uro always had to order the BCG right before my dose.
