 Well one thing you count on and that is staying on top the situation is way better than the alternative. I once made it a year without TURB. Then it was high anxiety every 3 months! I know we often get the news we want but I have faith you will deal with the news you get.

Don--

While it's always a disappointment to have a recurrence, I think it may be especially disappointing for those of us who have a recurrence when we are close to the two-year mark all clear milestone -- at least that's how it was for me. My first reaction was to be really mad that I had to continue with 3-month cystos instead of being able to go to every 6 months. But with good fortune, your new tumors will be low grade, and the worst that happens will be having continued check-ups every 3 months. As someone pointed out to me when I had my first (and only, so far) recurrence, and was complaining, better to be vigilant and put up with cystos every 3 months!

Best of luck to you.

Ann

Small TA Grade 1, May-06; recur (2 tiny), same, June-08; TURBTs both times. BCG begun July-08, dosage to 1/3rd May-10, completed treatment December-11. All clear since 2008.

I truly appreciate all your comments. I can't begin to tell you how much your support means to me. I think that without this community, the temptation to give up would be overwhelming. God bless you all.

That is NOT the news we want to hear! But it isn't the end of the line, as many of those on this list can attest. In the back of my mind I know that the possibility of this happening is real...my cysto is in two weeks.

Know that all of us are thinking of you.

God, I remember that feeling. The news of more cancer is like a punch in the face. But. You WILL get through it! It is still in its NON invasive stage and it will be dealt with. Keep up your spirits and keep on this site.

Bummer is right, Don.
I guess that is why I chose a Neo Bladder. It has been 6 months,
and I am close to feeling normal again. The best part is, there
won't be anymore surprise's. The bladder & cancer are gone for good.
I know every situation is different. But it is something to consider.....
