>The algorithem seemed more aggresive than the US treatment guidlines. I see they recommend BCG for Ta G2. My doctor didn't feel that was necessary at all.

Bob, I agree with your doctor! I'm surprised myself to see that recommendation and I can only wonder how many times uros actually do treat a TaG2 tumor with BCG...hmmm.

Hi sair

After having seven positive dx and turbt in the last three years I was told that I had CIS as well , started BCG but unfortunately had to stop after three treatments because of severe bleeding, so now I am waiting to go back in Jan for P&P and biopsies and hope that the BCG has worked ?

Wendy,
thanks for that web site. Interesting and a little scary to see videos of what they actually do.

I live in the UK and had a three month check after Dx and was given all clear told no problem and had a 6month appointment .was I shocked at my next P&P to be told I had ten tumors up to 2cm in size. Dont let them fob you off with second rate treatment , if in doubt get a second opinion.

Here's the link for the European Guidelines for treatment and follow up:
www.bladder-cancer-course.org/sites/05_07_01.html?t=1&n=1&m=1&a=t

You can also check out the 'algorithm' to see if you're being treated according to the recommendations for your stage and grade of cancer.

I'm pretty sure the US and Europe are doing the same when it comes to follow up, although there are a few differences Re: treatment Rx's.

Keep asking and learning...many times it helps relieve fear and anxiety to know all the angles, but it's certainly not for everyone. Most people who visit WebCafe are the types that want to know what's going on and whether their doctors are following the advised path.

I wish you all the best,
Wendy
