Hi Pamela,
You are doing the right thing by having this bleeding checked out thoroughly. I also had some bowel problems which required a colonoscopy to eliminate the possibility of any more cancer. I was fine, and also think stress was my major cause. I have had 2 family members who have been passing blood, one had colitis, and the other diverticulitis, neither of which were diagnosed until the colonoscopy, so hopefully your husbands results will rule out your fears also.
Hoping all the best
Flamenco.

We are home and hubby is sleeping very soundly. As he heard the prep was worse than the test.
They did remove 3 polyps and found hemeorhoids. The doctor felt the colon in general looked good.
I am relieved that it's over. The waiting kills me.
Thank you all again for listening. It really means so much. I sometimes feel a bit guilty as I know many people are dealing with much worse scenarios but take the time to ease my worrying head. Which I have a headache from as I type!
We were told the biopsy can take 2 weeks. I know his primary will call a soon as the report crosses his desk.

Thank you Thank you,
Pamela

Pam, I also have had blood in my stool, the first time after my initial turb last year and then again during the summer. The blood was bright red and it could have been caused by constipation, straining (was on antibiotics) anal tear. Have had yearly colonoscopies and have had in the past 3 times 2 small non cancerous polyps. I agree that the prep cleansing is the toughest part of the procedure.
