Hi Rosemary: Hope the worse is over and you are now settled in front of the "tellie", perhaps with a good movie, instead of the news. You made it for 12 - and I understand why you say BaBye BCG - really I do! And I have only had 9 doses. So do you have a couple of months now until your next poke and peek? If so, take a little R&R from work and go on Holiday, you deserve it. Let me know if you opt for some of the other studies out there as I might be right behind you.

Take care of yourself BC friend, Sandra

I saw a blurb on the net about Michael Moore but haven't read it yet.  I'm sure I'll hear about it after my shower and get my blanket and go get in my chair in front of the TV.  I think the worst of this is past.  Lots of clots this time, and for the record, I've had diarrhea for the last two treatments.

So, as far as I'm concerned, Pat, bring on the clinical trials or the new bladder or whatever.  If I make it 20 years until the cancer comes back, then I may opt for BCG, but for now, BCG, bye-bye.

Well now theres a horror story for Michael Moore who the gov't is going after for his new documentary on health care in America. Where can i send this guy some money for his taxes...don't let him leave....lets have a bake sale... something. What can we do to help him continue his treatments?...There's gotta be a loophole somewhere.
And Rosy...maybe that Dicks or Jack's or whoevers mouthwash has something to do with the toes being better...lord knows it had everything in it for inflammation, yeast and antihistamines!!!
I'm personally glad you're on your last BCG....i've heard this story so many times...its just irritates the bladder so badly and your poor little body.... I've been reading about so many new drugs to go into trial lately....EnGenelc out of Sidney has a new way of delivery with nanocells that kill tumors directly without having to go thru mass doses of chemo...about to go into trials and the Univ of Alberta, Canada is using DCA (dichloroacetate) which has been around for years to treat rare metabolic disorders will attack cancer tumors and they are about to start trials. Well, today is my last BCG.  What I mean is, this is going to be my last BCG!  No more.  My bladder is begging me to stop.

I am presently in the middle of number 12 (?) and I'm voiding about every 2 minutes and there was just now a big clot of blood and something else :-[....I took a Proced before treatment and had 1/3 dose BCG, so I can't imagine what it would have been like, had I not taken the meds.

Gotta go, but, this is the last one guys, unless something very major happens in the future....

Thank you all for your kind interest in my saga.  I have one more treatment this Thursday in this go-round.  I am going to try to finish the round out with this last one.   I would just feel like a quitter otherwise.

I was helping a little old man with the taxes on his boat a few weeks ago.  He and his wife were from up north and they have been living on their boat and cruising the coastlline for many years.  He has had a recurrance of bladder cancer and he was trying to stay in the area so that he could get the treatments at the only place locally that would accept his insurance.  The amount of taxes he would have to pay on his boat was a very critical factor in his ability to stay in this area and maintain treatment.  I tried hard to help get his taxes reduced. but I just couldn't legally get his taxes to a comfortable point for him.  Last week, he came in the office and handed me his termination papers from the Marina.  They are sailing off without finishing treatment.  I asked, "What's going on?"  The wife shook her head and said, "No more treatment. He had a terrible time, and the bleeding and pain was horrible." The man said nothing at all but just looked at me.  I felt so bad, because I had promised to help him.

I will never know how it turns out for this poor man.

Thanks for paying a compliment to my feet, Wendy.  That is a rare thing for me.

The toe is actually much better and the shoulder is loosening up a little. I am however, feeling inflammation in places that have prior to this point been spared.

And my best to Yo and Patricia.

Thanks for listening,
Rosemary

YIKES Rosemary...you poor toe! By the way, your feet are pretty cute otherwise, as feet go. Blunt weapons, hah hah! Those feet run in our family too!

If I were you I would stop BCG treatments, I think. The treatments are getting worse than the disease. Are you almost through with maintenance?

Did you know sometimes only 3 maintenance rounds are given? It's been shown that only 16% of the people on the trials were able to complete Lamm's full maintenance of 27 treatments over 3 years. Not everyone thinks it's possible. You seem to be living proof that BCG can be self limiting.

I hope you feel better soon.
Wendy
