good news about my dad

my dad had his stent removed today. his cysto last week was clean and his biopsy was clean also, the doctor could not find anything at all. he goes back in july for his next cysto. basically his kidney swelling was due to scar tissue at ureter entrance, doctor said that his last bcg treatment (which was pretty rough, he passed alot of debris) could have also contributed with inflammation at ureter. so basically betweeen scar tissue and inflammation that was the problem. i feel such a relief. thanks for anyone reading this.

just wanted to give an update on my dad. he was diagnosed in october and had one tumor removed. he completed his bcg treatments two weeks ago but had to go to the hospital yesterday due to kidney swelling from a partially blocked ureter. (his tumor was at the entrance to his ureter) the doctor placed a stent in his ureter and confirmed the problem was from scar tissue. my dad was scheduled to go back for cysto in april but the doctor did the cysto yesterday, along with a biopsy of the former tumor site. my mom and i were really worried, my dad's doctor called today with the biopsy results (negative). my dad will go back in three months for followup. we are all very relieved and happy. my dad has had excellent care and i can not say enough about his urologist. in case anyone reading this is in the newport news, virginia area my dad's doctor is geoffrey kostiner. thanks for everyone reading this and for everyone who responded to my posts. this site and the people on it are great, i will keep everyone updated. thanks.
