follow up time..We're all In the same boat.
Stay positive..It helps..I know it's hard.
Chances are you are going to do well.

Don't think for one minute that we who have had cystectomy do not have anxiety...well maybe i'm just speaking for myself....the anxiety before every 6month CT scan or chest x-ray or blood work. The twinge that might just be a pulled muscle has you thinking "what if".....i don't think its ever over.....Pat

Rollin,

We all get nervous at peek and poke time. I have been cancer free for a year and have my next checkup on 2/12 - still get nervous. Your doctor was right - it was a good diagnosis, but still doesn't alleviate the fears. Chances are small for progression and if you have recurrence at least you know what the procedure will be - more of a nuisance than anything. Good luck on 2/25.

We've all been there. No matter how many peeks & pokes you have, there's always the worry they'll find something. But, we're all here because we've survived. The folks who've had their bladders removed can tell you how life goes on. But there's also a large contingent of us who share your anxiety because we haven't had to give up our bladders.
You're right. Follow ups are anxiety provoking and they're no fun at all :P But the odds are in your favor. You had a low grade non-invasive tumor. There's no reason to think the worst. You can manage with whatever they find, but it'll probably be nothing or no worse than what you had.
I haven't had a recurrence in 7 years and mine was high grade plus CIS. I'm rooting for you 8)

I was diagnosed with BC back in Oct.
The ony sign I had was blood in my urine - once after jogging.
I had treatment by TUR - told it was all out with clean margins.
The pathology report was - Non-Evasive urithelial Carcinoma
- Low Grade
- Papillary
- No Local Invasion
- Muscularis propria is not involved
- No Vascular Invasion
According to my Oncologist this is a good report & he said no medication at this point.
On 2/25/08 I go for my first follow up - & I am scard to death.
My imagination has me thinking about everything like Bladder removal & death.
Please help me cope
