I must be the wierd one...i had 2 TURB's and got up and walked away after the procedure with no discomfort at all. The first surgeon wanted me to keep the catheter in which i hated.....the second at Memorial Sloan they took the cath out immediately and i was out of there in about an hour with no discomfort...went shopping later in the day!! Which begs the question....huh? Pat

Hi there :)

My 1st TUr was easy. I had been in so much pain for 2 monthes before that I felt fantastic the day after. My 2nd TUR was a different story, but my cancer was going from T2 to T3 and I had the urachal going on too. I was dx'd T2 at the 1st TUR - it was deep and I had some spasming the day of tho.
God Bless, Holly

Joe,

I took a week off with my first TUR and it was absolutely unneccesary. I was ready to go back to work pretty quick.

When I had my second TUR for residual tumor, I scheduled it on a Friday and was back to work on Monday.

Best regards,
Rosemary

Hello Joe, I've had 5 turbs since July 2006. I was a little achy the first day, but I could go back to normal activity by the next day with all 5 turbs. I am 37, this might make a difference.

Take Care, Kim

Joe, I honestly don't know what the norm is. And I'm not sure if I responded to the anesthesia like other patients do.

Fortunately I had my turb on a Thursday so I had time to recover and get back to work on Monday. Maybe that schedule will work for you, too.

How am I doing today? I'm doing fantastic. My RC was June 23, 2006 and I honestly feel better now than I did before the surgery. I had a couple of glitches along the way, but on the whole I'm happy and healthy and have no complaints.

Zachary, is that the norm. The doctor told me the surgery would take about 30 minutes so I just thought I would be back to work in two days. I have a desk job and can work from home if needed.

How are you doing today?

Joe
