I know how difficult it must be for you Dear, seeing your Mummy suffering is one of the hardest and heartbreaking experiences a daughter can bear. My heart goes out to you.Keep strong.

Thanks for that time difference info...I will try and time my nightly visits to the 'little girls room ' for around 3.a.m.

No Catherine, there is no time zoning in Israel :) . To get from the North to the South takes about 7 hours driving. (On a camel maybe a little longer.)Very small country indeed.

Sarahsue... I am so sorry about your mother's heartbreaking journey with this dread disease. I hope hospice can bring comfort for your mother and your family during this most difficult time.

Danielle... It appears that you are seven hours ahead of us on the east coast. Our chat time of 8:00 p.m. Eastern is 3:00 a.m. in Israel. That is for Tel Aviv time and I don't know if you have multiple time zones there.

If you ever have questions that you might want to chat about, we may be able to set a prearranged time and some of us who might be available meet you in the chat room.

Blessings to you both...
Catherine

Best wishes... Catherine

Cynthia, you brought tears to my eyes when I read the above which you wrote. Thank you.

I wanted to join in the chat yesterday evening, but I wasn't too sure of the time difference between Israel and the E coast. PG next weekend.I did go into the chatroom, but nobody was about.

Sara Sue,

Many times people with end stage cancer develop sepsis or kidney failure or a combination of other bodily failures.

When my family have used hospice we found that telling them often what our goals were in the situation,in our case it was comfort and dignity. And that they would let us know what to expect as things changed so we did not get blind sided if they could.

Sara Sue I am sorry for your mother and your family, and I am sending you thoughts of comfort. We are a family here and even if you have only been a lurker you are a part of that family. As a community we walk this journey together so please post if you feel the need, and we will be here with you.

Don't forget to take care of yourself as hard as that is right now!

kidney failure? was created by sarahsue
Hi all,
I'm new here, although I've lurked for about a year. My mom is currently treated under hospice care at home and has stage 4 bladder cancer. It has spread to her lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, and liver. She has a fistula that is leaking her bowls throughout her body. She had her bladder removed last May and has a urine bag in front which now fills with fecal matter. She has bags for her kidneys which are producing red blood.
Has anyone else dealt with the end kind of like this? We are working with hospice, but I just was curious if any one out there has dealt with an end that was either kidney failure or sepsis.

Thanks.
Sarah
