I am so sorry to hear about your progression. there's nothing like having a sense of finally beaten this demon and in a matter of minutes finding out it has returned stronger. My mom had similar experience- after an RC and chemo, and scan after scan showing no disease exploratory surgery showed it ALL OVER her abdomen and into her lung lining a month ago. "devastation" doesn't even begin to describe what it does to you, and I know you're going through a lot of pain.
have you been offered chemo? What have you already had? My mother's cancer has already seen the taxols and giemsa/cisplatin regimen, so they're trying pemetrexed (alimta) on her. Has anyone discussed this option with you?

Pat, they said that Bob's was not muscle invasive either. They did the bone scan, CT scan, chest Xray before surgery & yet 2 weeks later found nodules in the lungs. It's been downhill since- Lorrie

Doug...i'm sorry i just saw your post. I can hardly believe it considering the path report showed it not to be muscle invasive. I never heard what pathology said on the 40 lymph nodes removed?
Did they do a bone scan, chest x-ray, CT scan prior to your surgery?
I'm really dumbfounded and so very sorry about this. I know second lines of defense are still in the testing stages but i'd sure look into it with a top oncologist

Some have been known to go into complete remission....i think its a roll of the dice but i'd sure give it some hard thinking.
I almost feel like you're family as Uncle Nip used to keep me continually entertained as a child with his balloon animals and always a ready supply for me to play with and the wonderful little town of Ashland that i loved so much. My best wishes to you and your family.......Pat

Hello, just saw your post also. I am very sorry to hear about the progression. My family has been dealing with the same thing for the past 11 months now. My father didn't have a RC, it had already spread. He has it in his bones as well and has been on chemo for the past year. I will not lie and say there hasn't been some bad times, but it is a personal decision. I wish you the best and I am confident you will make the right decision for yourself. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

xoxo

Doug,

I'm sure I am not the only one with eyes watering while we read your most recent posting. I think it is so very unfair for anyone to come so far in their fight with BC only to learn the cancer has settled in somewhere else. Some of us here cannot begin to know how unsettleing and painful this news must be to you but we are here to listen and support in whatever way we can. We will be praying that you will make the decision that is best for you. Hugs, Melodie
