My husband was just diagnosed with stage IV bladder cancer in May 06.  We were told surgery would not be an option, and a week later we are right into chemotherapy.  It is already in his lungs and has neoprostomy tubes through his back with a bag on each side.  I am also very unsure about everything.  You have obvously been through much in 2 years.  We have only begun.  I can't even think of where we will be in 2 years.

My landlord was just diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer which has metastized to the liver, kidney, and lymph nodes. He will see an oncologist (Dr. Picus at Siteman Cancer Center) on Tuesday. He is 85 years old however has been very active and is not having any complaints at this time. His urologist, who first diagnosed him advised him to try to fight it but didn't seem to be very optimistic. He is obviously very upset but he is very strong and wants to fight this. It is a very difficult time but we will do everything possible. I wish everyone the very best. Marci Healy

My husband was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic TCC in April 2001. He had a lesion on his liver and lymph node involvement. He had initially been diagnosed with TCC in July 2000 in his upper tract, and had his right kidney removed at that time. He underwent 6 months of chemotherapy--Cisplatin and Gemzar--and has been clear of metastatic disease since he completed his therapy in Oct. 2001. There is every reason to have hope!! While going through the chemo treatments is certainly no cake walk, there is an upside at the end! My husband found that taking it one day at a time--and always remembering to stop and take deep breaths often--helped get through the most difficult times. We also watched lots and lots of comedies on our DVD--never underestimate the importance of laughter!!

In October 2004 I was diagnosed with stage III bladder cancer. I had a radical cystectomy with an Indiana pouch replacement. All was going well, (I thought) until December 2005 when I was told my cancer had metastized to my liver & lungs & is now stage IV. I am now receiving chemo treatments, but am unsure of where this is going. Is there anyone else out there in this boat with me?
