Julie

Glad to see you back online and glad to hear that Dick is taking an interest in his music.

Sounds like we are still kind of "in the same boat" but I am so thankful that we can give that support and manage all we do.

Going to see if Bob can have chemo today.

Love and prayers,
Clara

Dear Julie,

My thoughts are with you both as this journey takes another path.

Great to hear that Dick is showing interest in being mobile in some way.

Those iPhone thingy's take some getting used to though...at least it will be a challenge for him to master the many options.

Julie wishing you all the very best and I take my hat off to you for being an incredible caregiver.

Kindest Wishes,
Leigh

Hi Stephany, He is working on the iPhone and has put the music on it that he had on his iPod. He is still working on getting an iTunes account for the phone. He wants to download some games. Today we found out his voice mail key isn't working and we have to go to the Apple Store for a replacement. We have already committed our time for the next few days to our granddaughters so that trip will have to wait. The store is also in the middle of the mall and a distance away from the parking. He is walking with a walker but it is slow and he doesn't walk very far. He wants an electric scooter now as he has regained some interest in getting out to take pictures.
We met for an informational meeting with a hospice service on Friday. He is eligible because of his bladder cancer but my impression is that more people get hospice services when they are home bound. Dick still needs to go to the Cancer Center every week for a blood draw. Their RN's would not use his port to do blood draws. I would still have to pick up any meds that are not related to pain management. She also said that we didn't need much in the way of Case Management services as I had been doing a terrific job of being Dick's Case Manager. I think we will be continuing the way we are for a while yet.

Hug to you from Tucson. How are you. I've missed your voice here. Julie

Julie, I am so sorry about this. Has he figured out the iPhone yet? Can he play music on it?

How's his balance? I know he fell a while back. Is he still up and walking?

And since I can't be there to pat your back, I'll send a big hug from Iowa.

Stephany

Thank you for being here it does help. We will be very busy this week as our Granddaughters are visiting Tucson. They are staying with their other grandparents but we are spending as much time together as we can. This really cuts into time available to check the forum but I will try to read the forum every night.

Dick is getting some benefit from the Lexapro now. His appetite is somewhat improved. But today we noticed that he is having more blood in his urine. I will phone the urologist in the morning.
We are meeting with Hospice at 10 Friday morning to find out what they can do and how they work. Julie

Julie - Just wanted to let you know you have been in my prayers. Although I don't post a lot, I do read the forum threads. I will continue to keep you and Dick in prayer for comfort and strength through this most difficult time. Margot and Harry
