I keep talking to Dick about the forum and what is going on with people with mets. I sent him the link to sign up (we each have our own laptop). He is not getting online much. So I may continue to be his 'voice' as well as my own here. I'm not sure he is ready to talk about some things. After all if you write or talk about something it becomes real. There are things we need to discuss and many times I start the discussion by referencing what someone on the forum is experiencing. I appreciate people sharing the reality of their lives here it helps us feel less alone. Julie

Holly, we're in this together. I will keeping looking here for support, and give when I can. We caregivers may not know what they feel, but we can share with each other about what we feel. I think you are right about us being the voice. I can't get my husband on line, but he always wants to know what people are "saying"

Hi Holly,

As a caregiver to a father with blc mets, it has been very difficult and it is nice to be recognized. Though I cannot begin to imagine his innermost thoughts and fears, I do have my own. Every single day is a chore to try to be happy and hopeful. My father is not good at expressing his fears and they often are shown as anger. This is very scary but I completely understand. This forum has been a saving grace for me and a place that I can come and feel and a sense of community. It has really been helpful and I am so appreciative of all of the advice and guidance I have been given.

Thanks to all of you!

Hi Everyone.

As I am sure you are aware I have recently stepped up communicating with others dealing with mets. Doing so has made me much more aware of how many mets caregivers we have on the forum, too. Luckily I have chatted with quite a few of them and would highly recommend it to all mets caregivers especially, to all in general. They are not comatose or crabby, but actually very real and find humor while helping each other.
I have also come to realize that there are many caregivers who are the voice for their loved one with mets as they themselves are not online. I admit I am not sure how to get their voices heard and issues addressed, but I sure am open to ideas on how. Posting here in the regular mets section would be a great start.
Thanks for welcoming me in the chats :)
God Bless, Holly
