Clara, it really helps to have a Doctor who will take the time to go over the records and pay attention to the patient. Each issue is different and treatment has to be individualized. I can't say that Dick's current urologist has the greatest bedside manner because he is very shy but he is far better than the last one because he does take the time we need plus he was the one who found the upper tract CIS.
I hope the Dr. can help with the incontinence issues. Julie

Clara,
It seems that doctors have either one or the other (personality or thoroughness). Anyway, I'm sorry that things are not well. THoughts and prayers from my part of the world (TN)! Keep us updated.

Bob's visit to the urologist was created by Clara
We met with a new Dr. yesterday for help with the lack of bladder control.

After sitting there for one hour we were called back but then the dr. really spent time going over Bob's records, first CT or bladder, checking him. He made the statement that Bob's bladder was really diseased when this was found and kept referring to the "bad prognosis"..
Bob had an ultra sound and we found out that he has no sensation in his bladder, he has been retaining a lot of fluid because of this. He was constantly going to the bathroom but could not empty his bladder. The dr. catherized Bob and we go back next week on Thursday for the nurse to remove the catherer. On Friday, we will see the Dr. and he will have another ultrasound to see if he just retains his fluids.
The Dr. said we would talk more then. He did not have much of a bedside manner but he was very thorough which is important to me. We were in there for 1 1/2 hours after he came in there to see Bob.
Things are not looking real good here now. Just had to tell you all the update.
Love and prayers for you all,
Clara
