Hi Macie....
Newbie here. My 3rd surgery removed a tumor, which doc thought was too close to the kidney urether tube, left side. So he put in the stent to prevent problems with fluid blockage/backup. This gizmo was 11" long, from the kidney to the bladder, and was there for 10 days. YES, IT HURT the whole time!! Certain movements felt like an ice-pick jabbed into my lower back. And urination made one grit my teeth til done. Ouch. Removal was a blessing. How long did you have yours?

WEll Macie......you're at the #1 urology hospital in the country so they ought to be able to fix this. Why not contact the uro who put the stent in instead of the oncologist. They may be on a different page about the pain??

Pat, i'm located in VA. Went to JH and they told me to leave the stent in until chemo is over. I just get alot of pain in the left side of the area sometimes. My chemo doc said it is most likely from the stent. I am not sure. Any help you have would be great. They put the stent in after i got scoped from the kidney to bladder. Thank You

Macie,
tell us more. If you have T2 bladder cancer you have invasive bladder cancer and the bladder needs to come out and a new diversion made. Why did they put the stent in? Blocked kidney? And no it should not hurt. You may have a bladder infection.
What have you had done so far and where are you?
