Wow Pat that has got to hurt a double whammy. But your husband has to still do what he has to do. And yes I lost my hair around week 6 about the time they said it would happen. So I just went in and shaved my head and my wife actually liked it said I had a nice round head, and she said at least you know the chemo is working. I was more tired out from it then sick but sometimes I felt a little nauseous. They give you meds for nausea in the IV on the big days and I got an oral pill on the shorter days. Pat sounds like you have alot of strength hope all goes well. Joe

Yikes, Pat, I'm sorry to hear that. Your husband is going to need double the support and understanding if his brother is dying while he's undergoing chemo. That is a painful situation.

I wish you and your husband a lot of strength, and also comfort to your brother in law.

Sorry....I meant to say that his chemo is post-cystectomy. He's doing a little more poorly this week. He got a UTI and is on meds, and his blood levels are dropping, we think, because he is really tired. His doc said this week would be the worst, and he's right, so far. He sleeps a lot, but I'd like to get him outside for some fresh air.

Well, we are finished with this weeks chemo! So far the only side effect is hicups!
He has meds for that and has taken them but last night didn't seem to help too much, he was still doing it in his sleep but at least they didn't keep him awake, me now that's another story!! I just moved to the sofa and we both slept. ;)

I have noticed they come on mainly when he eats or drinks anything has anyone noticed that themselves?

I have poor memory so I don't know if I've posted about his younger brother dying of stomach cancer. Well, he called yesterday to tell us goodbye but haven't heard anything today so am assuming he is still living, he is in Methodist in Rochester.
They are making him comfortable and controlling his pain but this has weighed deeply on my husband too. So I'm amazed that my husband hasn't had anymore chemo side effects. God is good.

thanks for listening

Well, i just wanted to say hi and wish you all the best. I had 3 sets of Chemo with just cisplatin, I was also told i would be wiped out and lose my hair. Wiped out, most defently, keeped ;D my hair though. My advice is to take the meds they give for sickness and such, they do work. Eat small meals but healthy ones, try and stay as active as you can.And drink plenty of liquds, as my Nurse told me, Lots of liquids, (beer dosent count, LOL ) that was her joke. Also these are the side effects i have exsperenced, Ringing in the ears, numbness in the feet, ( still going 5 months later. and of course the old stand by, CANT GET OFF THE POT!. It will be difficult but you will get through it . Best of Luck
Joe
