Your response was very helpful to me. I recently finished chemo with the same two drugs and did well and am now facing the possibility of an RC with Indiana Pouch, because of placement, size of tumor. Knowing you are still. Here 10 years later was so positive for me.
Thank you!

I had had systemic chemo using cisplatin, gemcitabine and am still here ten years later I was also T2 high grade. We tend to see this conbination with T2 cases a lot on this site and it is considered a standard treatment. The best advise anyone can give you if you have misgivings about the treatment your doctor is prescribing is to get a second opinion. Hope this helps.

Does MVAC or Cisplatin and Gemcitabine have a better success rate. I am high grade aggressive late stage 2 bladder cancer. My doctor suggested cisplatin and gemcitabine not MVAC. All the research I have read would suggest that MVAC is a better, but hard Chemo, more sickness etc. MVAC was listed as the gold standard. I will have 4 cycles of chemo in 12 weeks to get the tumors to shrink, followed by a complete bladder removal. Thoughts, I am newly dx'ed as of October 2014.

Thanks,
KJ
