Hi everyone. Mom (84) received devastating news last week. Her chemo was stopped after only two doses. Even after reducing the Cisplatin/Gemzar concentration, her body could not handle it. Yesterday, the Urologist came up with a new game plan as surgery to remove the bladder is off the table. In July he scrapped off the majority of the tumors and voila they have grown back to their original size. So he will go back in to scrape them out AGAIN and then send her to radiology to zap the lympnodes that are now showing signs of cancer. What is different from July to now is that the lymph nodes are now a major concern to all doctors.
My question is how long does it take for this dang blasted cancer to spread. The urologist is concerned that it may have spread to her bones. He wants to improve her quality of life
A bright spot on yesterday, was a total stranger paid for our lunch in between the urologist appt. This man must have sensed that we were getting ready for devastating news. It made my mom smile.
