Six years ago when I was dx'd, I had a lot of blood. It was like I was just passing blood instead of any urine. Because it was a Saturday morning, I went to the ER. Thankfully, the ER doctor did a sonogram and the tumors showed up. I am very grateful to that doctor, because I was told by some top Urologists that most ER doctors would just think it was an infection and prescribe an antibiotic.
Two days later I had a cysto and, that was when I found this site.
I understand your worry. Why not call the doctor's office tomorrow and tell them of the heavier bleeding? Maybe he can see you sooner? I am sorry that he had you wait a month for the cysto, the waiting time can seem unbearable.
Good Luck,
Nancy

Good afternoon,

I am scheduled for a cystoscopy 10-30. I understand that the Dr. will scope the bladder and take a urine sample from the bladder to look for cancer cells. It is less than a week away, but I have waited for this procedure just short of a month following my Urologist's first visit . Should the Dr. find a tumor during the exam, I will have to schedule biopsy for a later date to be performed at the hospital.

The last several days I have noticed my urine increasingly darker and copper-colored.
It is alarming. If I were to go to the ER, is it likely I would be admitted and be able to have a cytopscopy with biopsy right away? I just don't know if I should wait until my exam next week or if I should try to get a jump on this now?

Thank you,

Sophie
