Great Information in this forum! I'm a newbie that just found this site, and was curious about how many of us have to cath.

Received my neobladder 9/16/10 at Mayo Phoenix, and so far have not had to cath. First major followup appointment with the Urologist is 12/3.

I see a lot of you guys are about my age (50), so you know the feeling of "what? I'm too young for that". I have a lot of life I still want to experience, and, God willing, I don't intend to miss it. (kind of getting away from the "tip of the day" theme aren't we?)

As long as you keep the big picture (life) in mind, you will be just fine.

That's the right attitude Joel! It will be tough but it's in investment in the rest of your life and it will be worth it.
Keep us posted! We will all be thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way on the 8th (and 9th, 10th...). Takes some effort to get up and walk when you don't feel like it. Do it anyway! :) Chew gum...

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I never thought I would actually be excited about having my abdominal cavity opened up and everything messed around with, but I am looking forward to getting this behind me, recovering and getting on with life. Come on Nov. 8!
