Hello - me again! I had my neobladder 2 years ago. If you click on my profile it should take you to all of my posts. You can then trawl through them. I found the site after I had had surgery. Happy Reading!

Betsy Mae:

Thanks so much for responding! I think it is important to hear from cheerleaders of each diversion, otherwise the website leads everyone to the same conclusion. I am convinced there is no one right answer for most people.

Could I ask how long you have had your neobladder? How long did it take you to get to the point you were "trained"? Did you find yourself hypercontinent from the beginning?

I am very willing to go back through the site and try to find your story if you have already posted it and don't want to repeat the details. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the support! I have great family and friend support although not too much in the immediate area as I am fairly new to the Houston area and not well established there. So, much of my contact is via email and phone. I am grateful for this outlet where I can vent and ask questions of people who really know what I will be going through. I already feel better!

As I said, your web site was very helpful and I am grateful you are also willing to post on this site.

Hello!
You wanted to hear from women who were happy with their neobladders? I am.
Some here may disagree with my view of happiness as I have been left hypercontinent and have to self cath but I do not see this as too negative. I now have a much better bladder capacity than ever before and as long as I plan ahead life is generally ok!
Feel free to contact me if you want any more information.

Pat -

Sorry I almost gave the doctors a bad rap in regard to your story...

Intransition -

Good for you...do keep asking questions and doing your research. As I have said on my site, quality of life is so important and so your decision should be made based on what facts you can obtain and what you think would best suit your lifestyle. No matter what diversion you have, I think sex will be different...another learning curve...I'm still working on that one myself. I hope you get to the point where you make your decision and are comfortable with your choice...then it will likely be the right one for you.

Please stay in touch with us. I will tell you this forum and the folks on it are invaluable, now and forever. We are here to help you before and after surgery so don't be shy about sharing your thoughts or concerns.
Hugs, Melodie
