I still remember the first time I had my hair shaved off, I am not a drinker but that day I needed a stiff drink it was not easy. I think for me it was the first time I could really see the cancer in the mirror. I wrote about it in a piece called Thoughts on being a Hairless Wonder here is the link if you would like to read it. I could say this will pass and it will but that does not make it any easier at the moment. I will admit though that by the time my hair grew back I remember one morning thinking what a bother because I had to take time to do my hair and it wasn’t as easy grabbing a wig or a hat and going out the door. Fickle creatures aren’t we?

I'll bet you look really strong....that's always been my impression of bald women....lots of strength projected. There's a great shop for hats on the internet....villagehatshop.com. I've bought many a hat there. They have great prices, and very stylish hats. I especially like the Parkhurst brand, because they're great with a sensitive scalp, and they pack well flat. I have a whole "tree" of hats.

Let us know what you end up liking in terms of style. And remember, a hat looks best worn with the brim at least horizontal, parallel to the floor, or dipped slightly in the front. At least that's what the "hat lady" told me.

I remember that night it's a tough one. I'm proud of you now go out and buy yourself a wonderful scarf...hat....while wearing one of your current options. I hope chemo goes well on Wednesday. Talk to you soon.

P.S. Jonathon loved when I let him pick out scarves for me.

Bit shell shocked! After a lovely meal out and plenty of wine I've shaved my remaining hair off! (Well my husband did it actually)
Feel quite odd but could not cope with it falling out in handfuls. Hard to believe I had quite so much hair to start with! Am now contemplating a life with head scarves and my new wig - well for the next year I suppose. Next chemo session on Wednesday. Hope it is as ok as the first one.
Sorry for rambling but felt I had to post.
