Just back from the hospital complete with 'Herbert the Hickman Line'. True to form everything that could go wrong did! First of all the nurses did not realise I had arrived so left me sitting around for 2 hours, then they could not get the line in as planned and had to find someone to put it in sub clavically. The last time that happened I ended up with a punctured lung so - imagine how I was feeling by then! At least I managed without sedation! Then the entry site in my neck would not stop bleeding! Anyway - home now - just sore!
Due to start chemo tomorrow afternoon if all goes well. Please keep your fingers crossed!
Happy New Year to you all!

Hi Betsy Mae

I wish you much success with your up-coming chemo treatments.
It is great that you were able to find another support site, and talk with your peers who have had similiar treatments.
May 2009 be a year of recovery and happiness for you.
Happy New Year,
Jack
