Mike I'm so glad you went to MD Anderson and that they are going to get you in ASAP......They do so many RC's and really have such top notch pathologists. I think they are probably right on the cross contamination. Continue with your positive journey and we'll be right there with you.

You're input and that of others on this forum has been fantastic!!!!
Since I asked so many questions advance, and gotten so much great input, I don't really have much to ask at this point.

I'll certainly be in touch on the forum as things progress.

:( Well my pathology reports came back. The kidneys are inconclusive.
However, a small red spot was seen right at the start of the cysto.

They did ureter and kidney brushes and cytologies, but given the pathology report that I have WHO 3/3 high grade muscle invasive, the consensus is that any positives on the kidneys would definately be cross contamination.

Also had my appt at MD Anderson. Their view was that since upper tract is so rare all by itself, the fact that I had positive cytologies in both kidneys at the very same time as the first positive cytologies of the bladder is that the tests were bad.

Given that it is now muscle invasive, they are working to get me in right away to discuss the cystectomy. I think I'm still not completely ready to accept that the kidneys are clear and I think they ought to be able to get clean test once the bladder is out (and maybe during the cystectomy itself).

I guess I will have enough to deal with just with the cystectomy coming up, but still....

We were really surprised. It was only a small spot, but all five samples showed same result in the bladder.
